Variation must have at least one option to create on Wix
When importing products from Square to Wix, you may encounter the following error:

This guide explains why this error occurs and how to fix it by correctly creating option sets in Square:
β Why Does This Error Happen?
- Square and WIX handle product variations differently:
- In WIX, a variation must be tied to an option. For example, a T-shirt with Size as the option and Large, Medium, Small as the values.

- In Square, you can create variations like XL, L, M without explicitly defining what the option (e.g., Size)

π So, when you try to import a Square product with variations but no option set, Wix throws an error because it requires at least one option (like Size or Color) for each variation.
π οΈ How to Fix This: Create Options in Square?
To fix this issue, make sure your variations in Square are created using option sets. Hereβs how:
β Method 1: Create Options Directly from a Product
- Log in to your Square Dashboard.
- Go to Items β Options.
- Click Create an Option Set.

- Name your option (e.g., Size, Color, etc.).

- Add values like: (for Size: Small, Medium, Large, and for Color: Red, Blue, Green )

This option set is now available when creating new products.
β Method 2: Create Options from the Options Tab
- Log in to your Square Dashboard.
- Click on Options β Add Option.

π Once saved, this option set will also appear in your main Options tab and can be reused for other products.
π Re-import the Product:
After creating the proper option set in Square:
- Go back to your Square Integration app.
- Re-import the updated product into WIX.
β This time, the product will be created successfully with its variations.
πββοΈ Still Seeing the Error?
