How to create a Variation Product in WooCommerce?
Variable products in WooCommerce enable you to sell a single product in multiple variations, each with a different price, stock availability, pictures, shipping class, and more. Each product can be managed differently.
Variable products allow you to provide a wide range of options to your clients in terms of size, color, and material at various price points.
Let's learn how we can create variation products in WooCommerce step by step:
- The first step is to create your Global attributes:
So attributes are the differences that you have in your product. For example, if your product comes in different colors, you need to create an attribute called "color."
- Click on the Attributes tab of the Products section
- Type the name of the attribute
- Type the name of the slug (optional)
- Click on the check box of Enable archives (optional)
- Click on the Add attribute button.
After creating a global attribute, you must configure it with the values. For example, if you create a color attribute, you also need to add available colors, right?
To configure an attribute, please follow the steps below:
- Click on the edit button.
- Include the desired value name.
- Include the slug name and description (optional).
- Click on the Add new color button.
That's all; the value you want to create will be available on the right side.
Similarly, you can add all your desired attribute values.
- Create Product Level Attribute:
Let's discuss how we can create the variation from the product level. You can create them while creating variable products. Here’s how:
- Click on the Attributes tab.
- Click on the "Add new" button.
- Type the "Name" of the attributes.
- Add attributes values.
- Make it available for product pages and variations.
That's all. Now, you can create variable products with desired variations.
Now that you have learned both of the ways to create attributes and configure as well, It's time to create variable products.
- Firstly, to create a Variation product, you must select the Product data as "Variable Product," as shown in the screenshot below:
4. Now, you have two options: either you can manually create the attributes, or you can utilize the global attributes, which were discussed earlier.
Here, I will use the global attribute that I have created before:
- Go to the attribute section.
- Click on the "Add existing" option and select the attribute that you have created before.
- Provide the values for that attribute as well.
- Click on the "Save attribute" button.
- You can create as many variations as per your needs and click "Save Attributes."
- Now, go to the Variations section and click on the "Generate Variation" button, which will automatically generate variation combinations for that product.
- Upon selecting "Generate Variations," the resulting combination of variations shall be displayed as follows:
- You can simply perform bulk actions to assign values such as price, weight, inventory, and more for all the variations at once.
- Finally, once you have completed all the necessary information, kindly proceed to select the "Publish" button.
This is how you will create the Variations products in WooCommerce.
