How to resolve Barcode missing error while uploading from Shopify to Walmart.

Walmart mandates the use of a unique product identifier (UPC/EAN/GTIN) for every listing published on its platform. If you are getting the Barcode missing error, you can follow any of the steps below that is suitable for you.

  1. Add Barcodes to the Shopify products:

If you have valid barcodes, add them to the Shopify products and proceed to re-upload the products that encountered errors within our application. This action will effectively resolve the issue.

  1. Request a UPC exemption from Walmart:

If you sell products without product identifiers (such as private label products, hand-made products, non-branded or wholesale products, and/or products with a customized element), you will need to request a UPC exemption from Walmart. You can learn more about the process from here.

  1. Buy product Barcodes/identifiers for your products:

It’s important to exercise caution when sourcing your product identifiers.  You can find many reliable sellers on the internet. One of the sources is here.

Please note: You are free to use any reputable seller. The seller provided here is just one of the options we provided for the convenience of our clients. We strongly advise verifying at your own risk before making a purchase.
